香港中文大學農業生物技術國家重點實驗室成員何軍賢教授和主任林漢明教授, 聯同北京林業大學的安黎哲教授團隊在Plant Communications發表了題為“A reference-grade genome of the xerophyte Ammopiptanthus mongolicus sheds light on its evolution history in legumes and drought tolerance mechanisms”的合作研究論文。該研究利用多種先進的基因組測序技術，構建了蒙古沙冬青染色體級別的參考基因組，對基因組序列進行了詳細的注釋，分析了其基因組進化的特點，並探究了其抗旱的機理。
