Popular Science Lecture: Minxin Hong Kong School(Guangzhou Nansha)– the sixteenth Minxin Lecture “A Journey of Soybean Research”

Prof. Hon-Ming Lam, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Life Sciences and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, was invited to deliver the 16th session of the Minxin Lecture Series at Minxin Hong Kong School (Guangzhou Nansha). The lecture, titled “The Journey of Soybean Research,” offered students an inspiring glimpse into the world of scientific discovery.
During the talk, Prof. Lam shared his research journey with soybeans—from genetic decoding to field applications—and how innovations originating in China have benefited communities worldwide. He encouraged students to seek truth through practice, aspire to become pillars of society, and work together to create a better future. Prof. Lam also urged student representatives to nurture their ideals and strive for excellence.
The lecture attracted a full house and was met with enthusiastic participation.
