2025.07.02

The International Student Science Conference (ISSC) 2025, held from 2 to 7 July in Hong Kong, brought together secondary school students from around the world to explore the frontiers of science and technology. Co-organised by St. Paul’s Co-educational College and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the event featured a series of lectures, workshops, and student presentations aimed at inspiring young scientific minds.

Prof. Lam Hon-Ming, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology and Choh-Ming Li Professor of Life Sciences at CUHK, was invited as a keynote speaker. On 2 July, Prof. Lam delivered Keynote Science Talk 1, titled “A Journey of Soybean Research”, where he shared his decades-long exploration into soybean genetics, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. His presentation offered students a firsthand look at how scientific research can evolve from laboratory discovery to real-world application in the field.
