State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology Academic Advisory Committee Meeting

On 21 March 2026, the State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology (The Chinese University of Hong Kong) held its Academic Advisory Committee meeting in Shenzhen. This was the first Academic Advisory Committee meeting since SKLA’s reorganization, convened to report recent progress and seek the Committee’s evaluation and guidance on SKLA’s development. Prof Liwen Jiang, Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor (External Affairs) of CUHK, delivered the welcome address, reaffirming the University’s strong support for SKLA and emphasizing the importance of aligning SKLA’s development with national strategic priorities. The meeting was hosted by Committee Convenor Prof. Junyi Gai. SKLA Director Prof Hon‑Ming Lam presented SKLA’s recent achievements and progress, followed by detailed research and project reports from SKLA members. Academic Advisory Committee members including Prof. Kang Chong, Prof. Yaoguang Liu, Prof. Lizhe An and Prof. Zhizhong Gong, and SKLA members has then engaged in in‑depth discussions and yielded highly productive outcomes. The Committee affirmed SKLA’s current achievements and put forward practical, forward‑looking recommendations that help accelerate SKLA’s research portfolio optimization, and strengthen team collaboration and innovation capacity. The meeting has driven momentum for SKLA’s future development and laid a solid, encouraging foundation for her continuous progress.
